DURATIONS aims to connect sensation with experience. Presented by Public Records in collaboration with Pioneer Works and Whitney Museum of American Art the festival brings together a diasporic lineup of electronic and experimental artists and guest speakers for a series of live and club performances and presentations that push boundaries in music and philosophy.

How can I attend the festival?

Festival passes and tickets to individual events are available for purchase by Public Records via Dice. Festival passes will grant attendees access to all shows for $150 + fees, while à la carte tickets grant access to single shows and events.

Where is the festival located?

Durations is co-presented at Public Records, a multifunctional music and social space in Gowanus, Brooklyn, Pioneer Works, a nonprofit cultural arts center in Red Hook, Brooklyn, and the Whitney Museum, a modern and contemporary American art museum located in the Meatpacking District of Manhattan.

What is In Conversation?

For this year's festival, Durations presents "In Conversation," a series of philosophical discussions led by acclaimed philosophers, writers, and academics to explore the worlds of thought, magic, technology, and the future.

FRI 11.7 - Join us as we shine light on potential sites of exploration at the interstice of thought and magic with esoteric thinkers Mitch Horowitz [author, historian], Phil Ford [Weird Studies], and Meg Keane [Third Sister Astrology]. Moderated by Meredith Graves.

SAT 11.8 - Philosophical podcast, Acid Horizon, joins the festival for its second year, this time with The New Centre for Research + Practice, with guests Jason Mohoghegh and Reza Negarestani to explore five philosophies of strangeness over our techno-existential future.
